The Matt Bastardsons are to modern music what painted ladies were to the old west; they lure you in, knock you over the head, and steal your wallet. But somehow, they always keep you coming back for more. Hardly ever announcing shows in advance, the word always seems to get out, and the house always seems to get filled. Flat out, The Matt Bastardsons kick ass.

Made up entirely of Detroit area natives, this group is quickly becoming a local favorite. Matt Bastardson writes the songs, plays the guitars, and supplies the vocals, but he also has plenty of help along the way. Local percussion legend O.K. Corrales lays down a healthy foundation, and bassist Doc Fraser locks into the groove like the needle locks into your favorite vinyl. The inimitable Kitty Bastardson colors the vocals in an otherworldly way, and smoothes out the rough edges. The Matt Bastardsons get the job done, and get it done right.
